  I'll start with the good and then end with the bad.
  
  This is not authentic Mexican food, BUT, it is fantastic. I wish I could rate this restaurant 4 or 5 stars. If I was reviewing only the food I would give 4-5 stars. But alas, the review has to be a review of the restaurant as a whole, and the service, especially our second time, was lacking... but I'll get to that in a bit. My husband and I came here twice during our weeklong vacation and both nights the food was scrumptious and delicious. Both nights I ordered the chicken enchilada plate (rice and black beans included). Everything was amazing and you get a lot of food. I couldn't finish my plate either night, even though I wanted to because it was so yummy. My husband ordered the chicken milanesa the first night and the chicken flautas the second night. He loved both dishes and I tried them both and also was impressed. The first night we also ordered the sweet Mexico bites as a desert, which consisted of deep fried tortilla chips sprinkled with a lot of cinnamon and some vanilla ice cream on top of the chips. They were also really, really good.
  
  Our first night there, we didn't have any real issues: the food was amazing, our waiter, although a little slow to refill drinks, was friendly. The second night we went was the problem. We had an older gentlemen (maybe the owner?) as our waiter, and he was nice, but did a couple things that bothered both my husband and I. Firstly, my husband and I originally wanted to split out meal because we were going to be leaving the next morning, and so didn't want leftovers or a lot of wasted food (as I've said the meals are big). The waiter said we weren't allowed to split meals, even though that wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu. If that's a policy, it needs to be listed on the menu somewhere, or at least on a sign near the front. He took much longer to check on us during our meal, so I sat there for quite some time before getting a refill, even though it wasn't busy. He also automatically charged us a 15% tip and did not tell us even though we only had a party of 2 and an automatic tip is customarily for parties of 6 or more. That was also not listed on the anywhere (it also did not happen our first night). We were more annoyed that he didn't he mention it then we were at having to pay it. One last annoyance probably wouldn't bother me if everything else had gone smoothly was that we were not offered mints as we were leaving, however we saw him offer mints to a party of two older couples as they were leaving and they were entering.

  Service first night: 3 stars
  Service second night: 1.5-2 stars

  The best worst food experience ever. The restaurant was full so we thought it would be good. How wrong were we. We were there and ordered drinks. Margaritas were great and ordered our meals. Within the next hour, we were asked what our meals were 4 times and then brought the wrong meal. One of our meals came out and was stone cold.
  We were over it and returned the meal and asked to pay for the drinks we had. Manfred was rude and wanted to charged us a 15% tip. He got even more rude when I said I wouldn't pay the tip, just the drinks and tax (tips are for good service, right?). He then proceeded to give us our change from the staff tips in quarters.
  Such bad service still exists.
  Sad little man that should have given up hospitality a long tip ago
  Poor on every level.

  Absolutely terrible. We waited the better part of one hour for our meals. During that time, the waitress approached us 4 times to clarify our order. The wrong meal was then brought out, she took it back to the kitchen and returned with one of our meals.  
  It was stone cold and looked absolutely disgusting. We went up to see the owner and asked to pay for our drinks and said we wouldn't be staying to eat. Manfred was extremely rude and hostile. He expected us to pay a gratuity and charged us 15% tax instead of 12 on our drinks. We were very happy to pay for the drinks that we had. He stood there arguing with us saying that we needed to pay the tip, we refused and the patrons behind us also backed us up saying their meals were terrible and cold. He then counted out our change in quarters from the staff tips and tried to shortchange us three times. I wish that we had read all the reviews before we went because as you can clearly see most other customers have the same experience. Manfred, there's a huge problem with your business as everyone writing reviews is saying. Maybe it's time you made a change and did the right thing by your paying patrons. If this wasn't a resort that brought tourists year after year, you'd go broke as you couldn't possibly have return customers. The upside is, it's a great travel story to tell our friends. Very "faulty towers"

  Don't bother. I ordered the Santa Anna Burritto and was content with the size but the overall dish itself was disappointing. Nothing but beef in it. Shouldn't there at least be some veggies in it? A bland sauce was drizzled over it, served with a small daulup of beans and what tasted like Uncle Ben's flavoured rice. Margarita was an epic fail! An uncalaculted amount of alcohol flavored juice on ice. Ice?! Shouldn't it be blended?
  Husband ordered the Mexicana taco which on the menu stated 4 but only received 3. Well, at least he got veggies on his  un restaurant worthy tacos. To add, his beer tasted as though a tequila drink may have previously been served in it.
  First time parent here. So do kids not need a balanced diet? When out with child of course we have to make exceptions to their food intake but we ordered the quesadilla assuming there'd be an assortment of ingredients in it. Nope! Just cheese. Melted cheese in between 2 tortillas.
  This restaurant is a very basic rendition of Mexican food so if you are looking for a taste of Mexico, just watch a YouTube video of how to make...and prepare it yourself. This way you can make it healthy and tasteful without the mandatory 15%gratuity.

  I was not impressed. Basically the enchiladas were flavorless... the flautas differed from the Baja tacos in that they had red sauce. For the price, this is not the Mexican food we are accustomed to. The service was fine but we were disappointed with the food.
